The tip has a carved crocodile that is made from genuine brass. It has been polished inside and out. A food safe sealant coats the interior of the horn. The front features a shield knot. The Shield Knot is deemed to be an ancient Celtic symbol of protection and was placed either on battle fields or near ill people as a means of warding off evil spirits or other dangers. Warrior would carry this symbol with them as protection on necklaces and shields. This horn stand has a simple design so that it does not take away from the drinking horn you plan to display.
